The M.A. Sociology is offered at the University of Rostock as a mono degree program. The standard period of study is 4 semesters. The program includes modules on theoretical, methodological and diagnostic social analysis, empirical methods, it deals with demographic issues as well as a wide range of courses in the elective areas. Emphasis is placed on both content diversity and methodological knowledge.

Access to the M.A. Sociology is possible via the B.A. Social Sciences and B.A. Social and Demographic Sciences degree programs of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences and via the B.A. Sociology of the Faculty of Humanities.
